There are not a whole lot of people that are fully aware of all of the uses that beads can have. Beads can have both a functional as well as decorative purposes. Beads also were used for ethnic significance in countries of Asia . In fact bede was a term that originally used to refer to the rosaries or the prayer beads which were used for religious purposes. In addition to religious purposes these types of beads were used to create a good portion of the charms as well as many amulets in traditional communities and societies.

Beads are made of a wide variety of materials. Beads can be made of glass, plastic, wood, gemstones, ceramic among many other materials. The process of creating pieces of art using beads is commonly referred to as beadwork. Beadwork is a process that involves attaching single beads together or attaching them to clothes. Bead embroidery, loom, knitting and crocheting are all very common techniques used in beadwork.

There are a wide variety items that can be created from beads. Some of them include purses, necklaces and bracelets, all you need is the right tools and beads and you will be well on your way to making something gorgeous.
